Network Cable Installation

Did you know?

The terms Data cabling, network cabling, Ethernet cabling, LAN cabling and structured cabling are all one in the same thing. Structured cabling is just the word used to sum up the network cable infrastructure withing a residential home or business environment.

The LAN cable (S) or Ethernet Cable (S) refers to the actual cable. Ethernet or LAN cables comes in various types like Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A. Cat6 is the most common one used today as it delivers a gigabit network connection among other things.

Voice cabling (VoIP) is the same as data cabling. Ethernet cabling or LAN cabling are used to transfer data over the network whether it’s voice or data traffic. Both Cat5e or Cat6 can be used for data and voice traffic.
